We signed up for “FREE” cable in our new Venice, Florida community. The HOA gets a kickback when they offer free cable, because Xfinity then charges you way too much for internet that won’t work.

We got sucked in, spent hours at their retail store, more hours with their inadequately trained staff in Bangladesh and hours laying on the floor trying to set their antiquated equipment up. They still use cable boxes, coaxial cables, gateways, and many other cords and ridiculous and worthless equipment.

We immediately went to T-Mobile, spent minutes picking it up and then setting up one simple gateway box requiring nothing but a power cord.

It worked perfectly for live TV, wireless streaming and our phones

Xfinity is a completely different story.

We have spent hours at their retail stores in two nearby towns. 6 different people and none of them know how to identify me. I’m sitting in front of them with my drivers license. They have sent a dozen certification notifications, and scanned my drivers license. And I’m still not “here.”

I’m about to blow a gasket, so I thought I would share this with my global friends. If I shove a pencil in their eyes, it was in total self defense!

Unless you want endless nightmares, do not get tricked into anything with Xfinity, FREE or not. Not unless you want to waste hours of your life that you will never get back.
